The number of law firms and the number of individuals working at Pennsylvania law offices are both on the decline, according to the latest data released by the U.S. Census Bureau.

The figures do not distinguish between lawyers, staff or any other types of employees at law firms, so, while industry observers say that anecdotally the number of attorneys does not appear to be on the decline, the overall dip in the legal labor force is unsurprising.
