Mena Larmour, Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young

As a mom to five children in a highly intense and demanding career in the firm's leading investment management group, Larmour uses her experience as a mother to provide support to the firm's junior and rising associates, who look to her for guidance. In her own words, she often jokes that mentoring is much like "mom-ing" and encourages associates to capitalize on their strengths and helps to develop their weaknesses.

The mentorship that she has received from colleagues at the firm and learned from motherhood have given Larmour's stand-out qualities that are sought after in the workplace and legal profession, from empathy, compassion and understanding, all of which allow her to relate and connect with so many across the firm. She is a good listener, isn't afraid to give her opinion (good or bad) and encourages everyone to do their best. Most importantly, Larmour connects not only at a professional level but also takes an active interest in the personal lives of each member of the investment management group.

As you built your career, who mentored you?
