Jon Ostroff, Ostroff Godshall Injury and Accident Lawyers

Ostroff always knew he was going to retire eventually, planning to do so at 65, until his near-death experience with COVID-19 sped up the process. Ostroff retired in January, stepping away from the practice and passing ownership on to his managing partner, Rich Godshall. His retirement was featured in The Legal Intelligencer in December, an interview and article he was very proud to participate in.

Ostroff maintains some level of involvement in high-level case strategy and firm management, but is largely concentrating on his philanthropic work in his retirement.

One of his biggest victories was the $21.3 million Philadelphia County verdict and related settlements for victims of the Union County Greyhound bus crash. Ostroff Law's victory secured over $21.3 million in verdict (with additional delay damages and post verdict interest) and settlements against Greyhound Bus Co. This crash and lawsuit, which led to a seven-week trial in Philadelphia County, was featured on CNN. In 2013, a Greyhound bus operator fell asleep while driving a bus full of passengers from New York City to Cleveland, Ohio. This crash occurred on Interstate 80 in 2013, in White Deer Township, Union County, Pennsylvania. Ostroff was interviewed in a news story focusing on Greyhound's failure to adequately monitor fatigue among its drivers. The verdict portion of this recovery was $5.05 million, which is the largest recorded verdict against Greyhound Bus Co. in Pennsylvania.
