Don't give up now. In any movement, there is a counter-movement. That should not deter or hinder our collective resolve for diverse groups and allies to work together in support of the legal industry's most recent support for and push toward a more diverse, equitable and inclusive legal landscape. Indeed, this is necessary to grow as a legal industry and to be more in tune with the impact of laws on our communities and to help form that more perfect union. In prior years, DEI efforts have looked different. Back then we didn't imagine that acronyms like DEI, EDI, DEIB, JEDI would be part of the conversation, that companies and law firms would be expected to offer their corporate perspective on the issues of the day, or that there would be teams of individuals and third-party companies that specialize in DEI within the legal industry.
