The cumulative effect of the list, which takes reasonable expectations to the extreme, has revived the ongoing debate over whether the expectations placed on attorneys are reasonable and realistic.

We have all read it, and we have all seen the memes parodying it.
The leaked Paul Hastings memo from this spring, listing "non-negotiable expectations" for junior attorneys, has generated lots of buzz among younger and older attorneys alike. Some saw no issue with the 10 bullet-point list and others decried that it embodies all that is wrong with the legal profession. As a reminder, the leaked excerpt can be found here.
