When the relationship goes sour, who keeps the pup?

People love their pets and consider them part of their family. Pennsylvania law, however, generally considers pets and other animals as property. See Price v. Brown, 680 A.2d 1149 (Pa. 1996). Notably, however, animals have a special place in Pennsylvania law with requirements on how to identify them, how to treat them, how to transport them, how they may be killed, and what to do with their bodies and body parts.
