A Philadelphia judge refused to reduce a $25.9 million verdict against Temple University Hospital, instead hitting the defendant with an additional $3.7 million in delay damages.
In a 52-page opinion docketed Monday, Judge James Crumlish III of the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas soundly rejected Temple's motion for post-trial relief, including an argument that the verdict should be remitted based on the harm it would cause to the community.
