The Philadelphia Bar Association's Office of Diversity and the Barristers' Association of Philadelphia are scheduled to hold an Aug. 31 program focused on the Supreme Court ruling that ended the use of affirmative action in college and university admissions and the decision's impact on U.S. workplaces, including law firms.

Lloyd Freeman, chief diversity, equity and inclusion officer at Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, is set to be one of the panelists.

The virtual continuing legal education program, titled "Reimagining DEI: Finding New Pathways in the Wake of the Supreme Court's Affirmative Action Decision," is designed to address concerns regarding the ruling's application in employment hiring practices, future recruiting efforts, and existing DEI programs and initiatives. The program is also to explore why organizations and firms can—and should—recommit to DEI in the wake of the Supreme Court decision.
