Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas judges have selected Judge Nina Wright Padilla as president judge of the First Judicial District.
Wright Padilla, who has been on the court for nearly 20 years, was voted in Tuesday afternoon, receiving 49 of the total 86 votes that were cast. Judge Stella Tsai, who was elected in 2016, had run against Wright Padilla, but received only 37 votes.
