The Corporate Transparency Act (CTA) is set to usher in a profound transformation of America’s business landscape. The sprawling piece of federal legislation, aimed at preventing the misuse of shell companies for illicit purposes, is slated to take effect on Jan. 1, 2024, and will cast its regulatory net over an estimated 32.6 million existing businesses and millions of newly formed enterprises annually.
