A federal judge on Wednesday wrote in a memo that two Duane Morris lawyers settled claims for a client without the client’s consent, resulting in a lawsuit filed against the client to enforce the settlement.

In a post-trial memorandum revealed Wednesday, U.S. District Judge Mark Kearney of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said retired Duane Morris senior partner Steven Friedman and current associate Kelly Bonner confirmed a settlement agreement in 2020 that stipulated their client, the India-based affiliate of U.S. data entry servicer OKS Group, would drop three lawsuits against one of its purchasers, BSI Financial Services.
