As we leave January behind, generally known as divorce month—a phenomenon that refers to a noticeable surge in divorce inquiries and new filings—and are now into February with Valentine’s Day around the corner, love fills the air. This is the time of year when many couples consider taking their relationship to the next level.

The modern marriage proposal involves more than the traditional diamond or lab grown diamond ring. Shortly after, and often well before the actual engagement proposal, couples contemplate social media coverage, pop-up engagement parties, formal engagement photos and meticulous wedding planning.
