Philadelphia-founded firms are embracing Boston as a growth opportunity, with Am Law 100 stalwarts Blank Rome and Cozen O’Connor both announcing attorney hires on Wednesday aimed at bolstering their presences in the region.

Cozen O’Connor has brought on Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott labor and employment veteran Walter Foster as a shareholder intended to help build out the firm’s presence in the city after launching a new office at the end of 2022. Blank Rome, meanwhile, launched its Boston office at the start of May with a group of 25 Burns & Levinson attorneys and just added on three more lawyers from the same firm.
