LaserOptek America, Monarch Laser Services and Pinnacle Health Group were sued by competitor Strata Skin Sciences for false advertising on Aug. 12 in Pennsylvania Eastern District Court. The suit, brought by Stevens & Lee, accuses the defendants of falsely informing customers that psoriasis treatments with the defendants’ solid-state lasers qualify for reimbursement under certain medical codes when in fact the codes only apply to treatments performed with excimer lasers, which are offered by the plaintiff. The suit further accuses the defendants of deceptively comparing the efficacy of their current product line with that of the plaintiff’s older product line. Counsel have not yet appeared for the defendants. The case is 2:24-cv-04138, Strata Skin Sciences, Inc. v. LaserOptek America Corp.
