Duane Morris has named its first ever Philadelphia office managing partner, appointing commercial litigation co-chair James Steigerwald to oversee the office's operations and recruiting efforts.

Prior to appointing Steigerwald, Philadelphia office operations were typically overseen by the firm's chair, presently chairman and CEO Matthew Taylor. But given how often Taylor is on the road recruiting new attorneys and visiting clients, he decided to appoint a leader who could interface with the firm's attorneys and staff in the firm's oldest and largest office "on a much more regular basis."
