Fitzpatrick Lentz & Bubba announced that Ronald J. Reybitz has been welcomed back to the firm.
He will join the real estate, land use and development group and serve in its corporate, business and banking group. With over 25 years of experience, Reybitz is adept at navigating real estate, permitting, and environmental law matters, notably in land use, development and zoning, and real estate litigation.
For the past 20 years, Reybitz has served in various in-house roles at PPL Services Corporation, rising to chief counsel. He gained experience in various aspects of the energy/utility industry, including acquisitions and dispositions, real estate issues/disputes and project development of electric transmission, distribution and generation facilities. During his tenure at PPL, he successfully led the legal team responsible for obtaining all regulatory and other legal approvals required for the acquisition of Rhode Island Energy by PPL Corporation.
Reybitz will represent clients in zoning and land development matters as well as real estate and other commercial transactions.
Outside work, Reybitz serves as a board member of Historic Bethlehem Museums and Sites.
He earned his J.D. from the Widener University School of Law, where he continues to sponsor the Reybitz Business Advising Fellowship for Widener Law Commonwealth and provide mentorship and experiential learning opportunities to one student each year. His bachelor's degree is in economics from Lehigh University.

The Duane Morris Women's Impact Network for Success (WINS) has honored two attorneys for their efforts to advance women in the legal profession.
Philadelphia partner Erin M. Duffy received the Cheryl Bryson Leadership Award. Washington, D.C., partner Michelle C. Pardo received the Margery Reed Professional Excellence Award. Duffy and Pardo received the awards at Duane Morris’ annual firmwide meeting.
The Cheryl Bryson Leadership Award recognizes significant contributions to women in the profession, including professional development of women lawyers and the advancement of women lawyers in the profession. The award is named in honor of the late Cheryl Blackwell Bryson, a Duane Morris partner in Chicago who was a leader in many significant civic and community causes, and was repeatedly honored throughout her career as a major pioneer, both as a woman lawyer and as a lawyer of color.
The Margery Reed Professional Excellence Award recognizes significant contributions toward creating, modeling and/or mentoring others regarding issues of work-life management. The award is named in honor of the late Margery Reed, a Duane Morris partner in Philadelphia.
Duffy is chair of the Duane Morris health law practice group and a member of the firm’s governing partners board. While serving in these leadership positions, she also avails herself as a role model and mentor to young lawyers. Duffy concentrates her practice on corporate health care regulatory matters.
She advises clients, including hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, medical practices, pharmacies, long-term care facilities and developmental disabilities facilities on a wide range of issues, including fraud and abuse, privacy, medical staff relations, EMTALA, self-referral, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, corporate practice of medicine and fee-splitting prohibitions, and certificate of need and licensure issues. Duffy has worked with health care providers on corporate transactions and administrative agency matters.
WINS is devoted to the success of the firm’s women attorneys. Through various programs, it exchanges ideas, fosters and expands business contacts and opportunities, and enhances attorney development to fully realize the talent, knowledge and potential of Duane Morris’ women attorneys.

Driscoll from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr have stepped in to represent Symbotic Inc., an A.I.-enabled technology platform that focuses on increasing supply chain efficiency, and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
