The American Bar Association has given its seal of approval to unite Pennsylvania State University’s two law schools, allowing the unified Penn State Dickinson Law to enroll its first unified incoming class for fall 2025 and operate on a conditional status, pending final approval from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and the U.S. Department of Education.

The announcement comes a month after PSU announced it submitted its application for acquiescence to the ABA Section of Legal Education and Admissions to the Bar, and around two years after Penn State President Neeli Bendapudi first proposed to reunify the university’s two law schools, the Carlisle, Pennsylvania-based Penn State Dickinson Law and the University Park-based Penn State Law. The unified school has designated Carlisle as its primary location, maintaining its additional location at University Park.
