The Philadelphia firm Sidkoff Pincus & Green secured a $4.2 million jury verdict in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania in a breach of contract suit stemming from a business partnership to provide technology services for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's medical marijuana program.

In TreCom Systems Group v. MJ Freeway, the jury sided with TreCom Systems Group, an IT services provider, led by the firm's managing partner Gary Green. TreCom accused MJ Freeway, a wholly-owned subsidiary of cannabis technology company Akerna Corp., of breaching their contract to work together to provide services to the commonwealth's newly founded medical marijuana program. After MJ terminated TreComm without the commonwealth's consent, the parties disputed whether an initial contract or a revised version that complied with state requirements was at issue.
