Scott Diamond, a former partner at Sacks Weston accused of stealing fees generated from personal injury and subrogation cases from his firm, is facing down a five-year suspension from legal practice, according to a recommendation from the Office of Disciplinary Counsel hearing committee submitted to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court in early December.

The committee, composed of chairman Robert Cahall and members Scott Bennett and Timothy Ford, found that Diamond had avoided a disbarment recommendation “by the narrowest of margins,” citing mitigating factors such as Diamond’s lack of disciplinary record, character witness testimony and willingness to agree to joint stipulations during the disciplinary process as weighing in his favor.
