- K&L Gates will be remaining in its flagship downtown Pittsburgh office building after the firm renewed its lease for another 15 years.

- K&L Gates said it plans to use the lease renewal opportunity to invest in various space upgrades.
Global law firm K&L Gates has opted to renew the lease on its flagship downtown Pittsburgh office building, although it will be decreasing its footprint by 25%.
With the firm's name already on the building, the K&L Gates Center has been home to K&L Gates since 2008, and sits within the historic central business district on Sixth Avenue. The firm previously held 200,000 square feet in the building, which will become 150,000 square feet over eight floors under the new 15-year lease.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
