Pennsylvania law schools are being flooded with applications for the 2025 academic year, with three of the state’s eight schools seeing at least 50% increases in applicants compared to this time last year.

According to data accumulated daily by the Law School Admission Council as of Jan. 31, just under 1,600 Pennsylvania residents have thus far applied to law school for the 2025-2026 academic year, a 25.6% increase compared to the prior year. Meanwhile, the state's law schools have received 25% more applications year over year, adding on 3,100 applications and netting a total of over 15,000 applications thus far in the cycle.
