TikTok will not be asking the U.S. Supreme Court to examine the scope of immunities shielding social media companies from liability for content posted by their platforms’ users.

TikTok Inc. and its parent company ByteDance Inc. on Wednesday informed a federal district judge that they decided not to pursue a high court appeal of a Third Circuit ruling that determined the company’s video-suggestion algorithm is not subject to the immunities afforded by Section 230 of the federal Communications Decency Act.
