A Montgomery County jury awarded a vegetable-based chemical importer and distributor $7 million against two former employees and two suppliers for violations of the state’s Trade Secret Act.

The 12-member jury in Jacob Stern and Sons Inc. v. Savaiano came back with an award of $1.2 million against each of the two individual defendants and former employees of Jacob Stern, Adele Savaiano and Fred Hawco, and an award of $4.6 million against India-based Jayant Oil Mills & Derivatives and its U.S. subsidiary JODL, according to attorneys in the case.
