Philadelphia law firms continue to hire first-year associates at a slower pace, showing a significantly smaller percentage increase in 2008 than they did in 2007.

A survey conducted by The Legal of Philadelphia law firms showed only a 1.2 percent increase in the hiring of first-year associates for the fall of 2008. That was compared to a 6.6 percent increase between 2006 and 2007.
