The state Supreme Court has denied allocatur in a case where an insurance company and its insurance defense law firm were hit with a $3 million verdict for breach of contract and legal malpractice claims.
Rest Continental Casualty Co. and attorney Jonathan Herbst and his law firm Margolis Edelstein petitioned the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to hear its appeal after the Superior Court reinstated the $3 million jury verdict a Philadelphia judge had thrown out. The jury found the insurance company owed $2.1 million, and Herbst and his firm owed $900,000.
