Thank God for indicted Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich. He has actually made Pennsylvania’s pay-to-play politics look subtle. I didn’t think that was possible.

Louisiana, Illinois and Pennsylvania have always seemed to me to be engaged in a bitter competition to see who can be crowned the most corrupt state. And Chicago and Philadelphia have similarly appeared to be in a contest as to which town can send more politicians to prison. But if the allegations against Blago are true, then that’s one world title Philly and the Keystone State are going to have to concede.
