Despite a year in which the national economy has sunk lower and lower, the Philadelphia Bar Foundation’s campaign to increase law firm giving to legal services for the indigent is seeing its most successful year in 2008.
While only 100 firms so far have pledged to join the campaign this year, about 30 percent of the firms committed to a higher goal of giving set by Philadelphia Bar Association Chancellor Mike Pratt, campaign organizers reported. The campaign expects to raise at least $1.4 million this year.
