As I embark to serve you as president of the Philadelphia Association of Paralegals for a second term, I cannot help but reflect on how far our board and association have come in one year. While we faced many challenges with respect to communication, transparency and inspiring our members, we managed to overcome them by our commitment to service. One of our biggest accomplishments as a board was to undertake revisions to the policies and procedures of business operations in running this professional organization. It is my hope that these changes will assist future boards of directors in being more cohesive and transparent in the day-to-day management of the association.

I am grateful in the confidence that you have shown in me by re-electing me to serve as your president in 2009. While I do not take my role lightly, I feel encouraged that the new board and I will take the association to new and exciting heights this year. The new board of directors for the 2009 term are: Renee Mazzeo, first vice president; Sharon DeNofa, second vice president; Christine Flynn, secretary; Maryanne Ebner, assistant secretary; Jamerra Cherry, treasurer; Theresa Coger, Diana Cook and Kirsten Fullerton, board members; and Valerie Dolan, board adviser.
