The bad news seems to be never-ending: layoffs, drops in the stock market, a credit crunch and the declaration by our new president that the United States is indeed in a recession.
No matter where one turns, the economy is the top story of 2009. Not surprisingly, this has forced many employers to make difficult decisions regarding layoffs, pay cuts and hiring freezes.
