Unfortunately, when you work in medical malpractice matters, one type of case you see is the death of minors. It is always an unfortunate situation regardless of whether there was actually some wrongdoing on the part of medical providers that contributed to the sad circumstance.

One of the remedies available in these matters is to recover monetary damages equal to the net loss of wages and related benefits that the minor may have earned over his or her lifetime. Calculating such an amount is an inexact science because of the circumstance. Nonetheless, there are several ways that forensic economists approach calculating such a loss. As an attorney, you should be familiar with the general approach and where information is gleaned from so that you can effectively represent your client in such matters.
