A Philadelphia jury on Wednesday awarded $13.5 million in a products liability suit over a portable fan that allegedly sparked the June 2005 fire that killed a 7-year-old boy.
After a two-week trial before Common Pleas Judge Nitza I. Quinones Alejandro, the 12-member jury deliberated over three days before concluding that a fan manufactured by Lasko Products of West Chester, Pa., was the cause of the fire that killed Joshua Foster.
