Should the continuous representation rule be adopted by the state Supreme Court to toll the statute of limitations in legal malpractice actions for as long as an attorney is retained by a client?
Many members of the state bar have expressed concern over the Supreme Court’s decision to hear a case asking this question, which has prompted the Pennsylvania Bar Association, through its Professional Liability Committee, to file an amicus brief on behalf of the attorney sued for malpractice well after the limitations period passed.
