When Frank W. Leuthner retired from his position as an executive officer with Blue Cross of Northeastern Pennsylvania, he did so with confidence he would have health care benefits for the rest of his life.
He and a number of other Blue Cross employees sued the company in 2002 after their health benefits evaporated in a reorganization of the company’s retirement program.
