The state Supreme Court has ruled that police officers have limited authority to pull over motorists suspected of drunk driving once they leave their jurisdiction.

The high court ruled 6-0 to overturn the Commonwealth Court’s decision in Martin v. PennDOT, PICS Case No. 06-1160 (Pa. Aug. 22, 2006) Cappy, J.; Eakin. J., concurring (21 pages), throwing out a woman’s license suspension for refusing to take a Breathalyzer test after a police officer pulled her over even though he hadn’t observed any questionable driving until she was in a neighboring borough.
