Over two years after Gov. Edward G. Rendell signed the law legalizing slot machine gaming, the Gaming Control Board stands on the threshold of approving temporary slots licenses for the state’s six existing horse racing tracks.

The board held two days of final hearings last week to cover remaining compliance issues covering the tracks prior to another scheduled meeting on Sept. 27 where it plans to grant the temporary licenses.
