While Montgomery County is facing tight fiscal straits in 2010, most of the offices playing a role in the county’s court system will see small increases in their budgets next year.

Leaders of the court system row offices and other departments still said belt-tightening will be required to counter rising expenses like health care costs, a record-level number of criminal cases and a higher number of judges on the common pleas court. The county is returning to a fully staffed judiciary and is increasing its bench by two judges.
