Former Commonwealth Court President Judge James Gardner Colins, known for his forceful opinions and having one of the sharpest pens — and tongues — on Pennsylvania?s appellate courts, has told Pennsylvania Law Weekly he will resign from the bench on Jan. 7.
His latest term on the bench was set to expire in 2014.
