Robert F. Morris, the Montgomery Bar Association’s newest president, will tackle issues of diversity in both the association and Montgomery County law firms during his year-long leadership of the 2,000-attorney group.

During an interview Tuesday, Morris said that the demographics of Montgomery County have worked against minority attorneys joining Montgomery County firms and joining the Montgomery Bar Association. Some minority attorneys may not have been interested in joining Montgomery County firms because of a fear that they would lack mentors, Morris said.
