A three-pronged economic development effort intended to preserve and stimulate the state’s economy highlighted Gov. Edward G. Rendell’s budget proposal for fiscal year 2008-09, which begins on July 1.

Rendell unveiled his stimulus plan, “Protecting Pennsylvania’s Progress,” and proposed funding schemes for education, welfare and other spending items, before both chambers of the General Assembly last Tuesday.
