The state Supreme Court plans to hear arguments this week in an appeal that will determine whether the method for calculating real estate tax assessments predominant in Pennsylvania is constitutional.

Also on the court’s argument list for the Sept. 8-10 session in Pittsburgh are cases involving questions about the permissibility of household exclusion clauses in auto insurance policies to bar stacking of benefits, the accessibility of public officials’ cell phone records under the Right to Know Act, and whether a products plaintiffs’ liability claim can overcome summary judgment when the defendant shows the product performed flawlessly for a decade before the alleged failure.
