While a midweek blizzard paused many Pennsylvanians’ normal routines, the work of the legal world slowed but did not become paralyzed as essential court functions were kept up and lawyers worked from home.

Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge D. Webster Keogh, administrative judge of the trial division, said the courtroom dedicated to emergency protection from abuse orders, bail acceptance, the warrant unit and arraignment magistrates with the Philadelphia Municipal Court all were available during a snowstorm that closed most of Pennsylvania’s highways and led to Philadelphia breaking its winter snowfall record.
