The Pittsburgh legal market held tight to its conservative nature in 2009 as it navigated the recession, coming out relatively unscathed and eager to get back to strategic management in 2010.

However, throughout the year — thanks to the G-20 summit transforming the city into a de facto world capital for several days in September and a general stability not found in larger markets — Pittsburgh, perhaps one of the legal industry’s best kept secrets, entered the spotlight. It has piqued the interest of out-of-town lawyers and, to the dismay of some natives, the competition.
