Two sisters of state Supreme Court Justice Joan Orie Melvin were indicted Wednesday on charges they used legislative resources to aid the sitting justice’s campaign efforts in 2003 and 2009.

The Bonusgate-like allegations made by Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen A. Zappala Jr. come more than three months after an attorney for state Sen. Jane Clare Orie, R-Allegheny, Orie Melvin’s sister, revealed the investigation and described it as being politically motivated.
