President Obama’s picks for the U.S. attorney posts in Philadelphia and Harrisburg garnered strong words of praise on Thursday, but some lawyers also wondered why the process is taking so long.
On Wednesday evening, Obama announced a batch of seven U.S. attorney nominations that included two for Pennsylvania — Zane D. Memeger of Morgan Lewis & Bockius to lead the Eastern District and attorney Peter J. Smith for the Middle District. Conspicuously absent from the list announced on Wednesday was a nominee for Pennsylvania’s Western District.
