People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals wants manslaughter charges brought against SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment, saying the park must be held accountable after an orca killed a trainer.
In February, a stunned audience at SeaWorld Orlando watched as a killer whale attacked and killed veteran whale trainer Dawn Brancheau, 40. Last week, PETA General Counsel Jeffrey Kerr sent a 12-page letter to Florida State Attorney Lawson Lamar urging him to bring involuntary manslaughter charges against the Orlando-based company and its executives in connection with Brancheau’s death.
