A record 1,592 registered for and 1,262 runners and walkers finished the 2010 Philadelphia Bar Association 5K Charity Run, which benefits the Support Center for Child Advocates. At the time of this article, it is expected that more than $100,000 was raised for the center.
The run took place on the Martin Luther King Drive on May 16. When the run started at 8:30 a.m. the temperature was almost perfect for running, 58 degrees and 65 percent humidity with an overcast sky.
