Longtime general counsel Lawrence A. Gross is rejoining Blank Rome, the firm where he began his career more than 30 years ago as an associate.
Gross, who left SunGard Data Systems Inc. in August 2006 to return to private law firm life at Morgan Lewis & Bockius, didn’t actually get the chance to start at the firm as planned. Just before he was set to start, Morgan Lewis client KLA-Tencor Corp. was in the midst of a stock options backdating investigation and needed an interim general counsel to help guide the company along. Morgan Lewis volunteered Gross, who said he happily accepted the job and spent the next six months in California working for the semi-conductor manufacturer.
