A dispute over an international reinsurance contract should be governed under Pennsylvania law, a Commonwealth Court judge has ruled, because Reliance Insurance Co., which ceded liability under a policy to Lloyd’s of London, expected to be paid in the United States.
Reliance Insurance Co. was a Pennsylvania-based company. Lloyd’s of London, based in the United Kingdom, is a syndicate of underwriters.
