Thirteen years after the imposition of a 30-day moratorium on attorney contacts of mass-disaster victims, the New Jersey Supreme Court has declined to extend it to all events causing personal injury or death.

The court’s Professional Responsibility Rules Committee had recommended expansion of the waiting period, but the court did not adopt the proposal in its rule revisions that were published on Aug. 2 and go into effect on Sept. 10.
