A slightly smaller percentage of applicants passed the Pennsylvania bar exam this July than did last year, though the number of new lawyers able to enter the market is about the same.
Of the 2,027 applicants for the July 2010 bar exam, 79.7 percent, or 1,615, passed. That is down from the 81.3 percent who passed in July 2009, or 1,625 of the 1,998 who took the test last year.
